A simultaneous show-of-hands confidence check: on a signal, everyone holds up 0 (closed fist) to 5 fingers to indicate how confident they are in a proposed decision.
Because everyone reveals their number at once, it exposes hidden doubt that a verbal round of "does everyone agree?" would let people hide behind a nodding majority. Low scores are treated as the start of the conversation — ask the low scorers what they're worried about — rather than as a vote to be overridden.
