A set of questions individual contributors are coached to ask back at leadership when handed a top-down directive, rather than silently executing it — chiefly what the directive is actually trying to accomplish and what success will look like if it works. Asking these questions is framed as an act of building trust rather than insubordination: it surfaces whether the directive-giver has actually thought through the outcome, and it gives the IC the context needed to make good judgment calls during execution instead of just following the literal instruction. It's a bottom-up complement to "Yes, And" Stakeholder Reframing and depends on the culture tolerating the questions being asked at all.
