Founder Brain-Dump

A deliberate technique for extracting a founder's accumulated market and product knowledge, even after they've stepped back operationally or mentally 'checked out.'

Concretely: a new product leader asks the board or CEO for a direct introduction to the original founder, for the explicit purpose of having the founder narrate their firsthand learnings — what worked, what didn't, and why — before that knowledge is lost to attrition or founder disengagement.

This assumes the founder still holds knowledge worth extracting, which connects to Before Product-Market Fit, the Founder IS the PM (the founder was the first PM and accumulated product sense in that role) and "Founder Mode" Misread as License to Micromanage — the Real Lesson Is Founder-Style Leadership (the goal is transplanting founder-style judgment into the org, not the founder's control).
