Iterative Niche Narrowing

A Data Dive research technique of repeatedly narrowing a niche's definition to isolate progressively more specific keyword sets and competitor strength — for example, stepping from toiletry bags to leather toiletry bags to buffalo-leather toiletry bags.

Each narrowing step reveals keywords and competitive dynamics unique to that exact sub-segment, which get diluted or hidden in the broader definition. This is most useful when evaluating a premium or specialized product idea, where the broad category's data is dominated by cheaper, unrelated variants. Related to but distinct from Dual-Niche Method (Broad vs. Narrow): narrowing drills one niche progressively deeper, while the dual-niche method runs a broad and narrow niche side by side for comparison.
