Parallel Team Assignment as an Execution-Risk Hedge

For a strategy's highest-stakes bets, one hedge is to assign the same critical problem to more than one team working in parallel, rather than betting the whole strategy's success on a single team's execution.

This hedges against execution risk specifically — a team can pick the right problem and still fail to deliver on it (see execution-risk-vs-strategy-quality) — not against picking the wrong problem. It differs from Concurrent Strategic Bets Cap and Parallel-Work Dynamics, which limits how many different bets one team can carry at once because of context-switching costs ('just because you can do one in x amount of time doesn't mean you can do two in 2x'). Here the redundancy is deliberate and applied to the same bet: the organization accepts the overhead of duplicated effort as the cost of insurance on a bet it cannot afford to lose.
