Two-to-Three Point Rule for Presentations

Karina Stukan (CEO, Bizzy) caps every presentation slide at 2-3 key points, citing research that people retain no more than 2-3 arguments or benefits at once. The same logic extends to messaging generally: limit any single communication to 2-3 points rather than trying to cover everything.

Presentations should also be numbers-first: lead with data, keep the deck short, and put recommended actions at the end, after context has been established — not scattered throughout or buried under exhaustive detail. She cites a client's 76-page roadmap deck as a cautionary example of the opposite approach. As she puts it: "It's always harder to make it shorter than to make it longer."

This complements Output → Outcome → Impact Framework (what to say) with a discipline for how much and in what order to say it, and pairs with Presenting as Discovery for reading whether the point count and framing are landing.
