A companion tool to the Business Model Canvas that zooms into the value-proposition block: it maps a customer's jobs, pains, and gains against a product's pain relievers and gain creators, checking for fit before assuming a value proposition is validated.
The jobs/pains/gains lens is explicitly portable beyond end customers — it applies to any stakeholder whose buy-in is needed for a change, including senior leaders, team members, or even the authors of a book, before trying to introduce that change to them. This generalizes the tool from a customer-research technique into a general-purpose stakeholder-empathy technique, related to Extended Trio (Commercial Stakeholders in Product Trios) and Customer Advisory Board / "Two in a Box" (B2B Product-Sense Technique).
