In a fast-changing market, a compelling Product Vision is more valuable to customers than a Roadmap (Feature/Project List): customers would rather commit to a company's 3–5 year future than to a list of near-term deliverables that may not survive the next quarter. A strong vision also reduces the pull toward reactive culture — restructuring teams around every new competitive threat or opportunity — because the org already has a stated direction to weigh new information against. Complements Roadmaps as False Control: that concept covers the internal illusion of control a roadmap provides; this one covers the external, customer-facing commitment a vision provides that a roadmap can't.
