Amazon B2B "Six Buttons" Framework
A six-part framework (credited to Robert Traimet, 'Mr. Prime') for building out Amazon's Business-to-Business (B2B) sales channel, which most sellers reportedly ignore despite Amazon claiming a $35B B2B opportunity, 74% more units per order, 42% lower return rates, and 8M+ business customers on the platform.
The six buttons:
- Business Pricing & Quantity Discounts — tiered pricing in B2B Central/Seller Central discounting larger orders (~5% off for 5–9 units, scaling to 10% for medium orders, 15–20% for larger, up to 25% off for 100+ units); claimed 10% sales lift alone, 20% + 25% more units when stacked with quantity discounts.
- Case Packs & Pallets — bulk-packaging structure (singles → case packs → pallets on one product page), claimed 16% faster growth than single-unit sales.
- B2B-Exclusive Advertising — Amazon Business Exclusive ad campaigns targeting only business buyers, with bid adjustments up to 900% and B2B-specific keywords (bulk, wholesale, business supply); claimed 219% more impressions, 156% more clicks, 120% more sales.
- Seller/Business Certifications — certifications (small business, diversity, veteran-owned, etc.) added to the business profile; claimed 3x more customer views and access to $300M+ in procurement spend.
- Request for Quotes (RFQ) — surfaces bulk quote requests including Fortune 500 orders ($10K+) and orders over 1,000 units; respond within 24 hours to build long-term supplier relationships.
- Business-Only Offers — special pricing visible only to registered business customers, kept separate from retail (B2C) pricing.
Apply: four-week rollout — week 1: set up the business account and certifications; week 2: configure pricing/quantity discounts for top 10 products; week 3: launch a B2B-exclusive ad campaign; week 4: analyze results and scale. Don't be timid on discount depth — business buyers compare prices aggressively.
Case packs/pallets is a bulk-packaging parallel to Amazon Virtual Bundles (Buy Box Cross-Merchandising) on the retail side; business-only offers require keeping B2B pricing decisions separate from tactics like Holiday/Event Pricing Strategy used on the B2C listing.
