Implicit Non-Confrontational Retrospective Framing

A team norm, from Bruce McCarthy and Melissa Appel (Align), for giving feedback after an approach didn't work: state what was done and its outcome neutrally, then propose a different approach next time — without assigning blame or naming who was wrong.

"But everybody just knows: hey, listen, we did it this way, this was the outcome, how about we try it this way next."

The lesson is left implicit rather than stated outright; the team is trusted to draw the connection between the outcome and the proposed change themselves. This is a lighter-weight cousin of Structured Trust-Repair Retrospective — for routine misses that don't require rebuilding trust, just redirecting the next attempt.
