Non-Product Function Excitement as Vision Litmus Test

The real test of whether a Product Vision is compelling isn't enthusiasm from product and engineering — they tend to "grok" a good vision naturally, so their excitement is a weak signal. The litmus test is whether non-product functions get excited: CFO, corporate affairs, finance, marketing, sales. If a vision only lands with the people who build the product, it likely hasn't cleared the Three Core Vision Ingredients bar — particularly the corporate-strategy and revenue-path legs — well enough to matter to the rest of the business.
