Post-Generative-Fill Color Grading Stack (Light Flare + LUT + Clipped Curves)
Overview
A three-layer color/light unification stack applied after a Generative Fill background swap, to make the AI-generated background and the real subject read as one consistent lighting environment.
Layers
- Radial Gradient adjustment layer (light flare) — white/bright-yellow core fading through reddish/orangish to transparent, blend mode set to Screen (so it only brightens, never darkens), repositioned/scaled to match the scene's light source.
- Color Lookup adjustment layer using the "Crisp Warm" LUT preset for overall color grading — dialed back via layer opacity (~50%) and by splitting the underlying-layer tonal-range slider (Alt/Option-click) so the grade doesn't crush the darks.
- Curves adjustment layer clipped to the subject layer only — darkens, adds contrast, and shifts blue/green down (toward warm/yellow) in areas that look unnaturally bright; masked in with a soft white brush, often used to correct artifacts caught during a "fresh eyes" QC pass.
Note
The Curves fix isn't about restoring strict lighting accuracy — sometimes a fabricated adjustment reads as more realistic than the literal, unedited result.
