Biddle's general mental model for how a company should resolve a product decision: first check whether existing strategy or plan already answers it, then see whether an experiment ('consumer science', e.g. Big A/B Testing as Default Validation) can answer it, and only fall back on judgment — Product Sense — for what's left. Product sense fills the gap after the first three resolution mechanisms are exhausted, not before. When product sense must be invoked without data, the resulting call is a SWAG (Stupid/Scientific Wild-Ass Guess).
