Lightroom Mobile Mix (HSL) Panel — Per-Color Hue/Saturation/Luminance
Overview
The Mix panel (tap "Mix" inside the Color tab in Lightroom Mobile) unlocks per-color editing: each detected color in a photo gets its own icon (red, blue, purple, magenta, green, etc.), and selecting one exposes three sliders — Hue, Saturation, and Luminance — scoped to just that color.
- Hue slider: shifts the selected color along the color wheel toward an adjacent color (e.g. dragging red toward magenta at ~30, or dragging a selected yellow all the way up to convert a wall to green).
- Saturation slider: intensifies or mutes the selected color (e.g. raised to ~60 on a red or blue flowerpot to make it "pop").
- Luminance slider: brightens or darkens just the selected color (e.g. raised to 100 on a blue flowerpot to make it stand out).
Together these let you not just enhance existing colors but recolor objects entirely — this is the mobile-app analog of desktop Lightroom/Camera Raw's HSL panel.
Selection method matters
See Target Adjustment Tool vs Direct Color-Swatch Selection (Lightroom Mix) for the two ways to pick which color(s) a Mix adjustment targets.
Gotchas
- A color that looks like a named swatch (e.g. a muted purple pot) may not respond to that swatch at all — the actual controlling channel can be a neighboring one (magenta in this case). Test rather than assume.
- Mix adjustments aren't confined to the tapped object — they apply to every area of the photo sharing a similar underlying color tone, so a fix aimed at one object can visibly spill into unrelated regions.
